Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met by a member of the Expect in Africa Safari team who will transfer you by road to your hotel.

Kahawa House opened in 2019 is the latest addition. This homely lodge is the ideal base either on the way to the Parks, after a safari or even as a stopover on the way back home.

After breakfast the driver guide from the lodge to the park for full day game drive, Tarangire is the third largest national park and sanctuary for an usually large elephant population. Leave lodge after breakfast for the drive to the Serengeti National Park. We'll begin the day with the scenic drive towards the Serengeti. Along the way we'll pass through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to glimpse cape buffalo, baboons, or even elephants and leopards in the dense undergrowth.
Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge
Explore the endless plains of the Serengeti from Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge. This camp is strategically located to ensure that all areas of the Serengeti are within reach of our guests, including legendary locations like the famous Maasai kopjes, the Museum of Olduvai Gorge, Seronera and the Grumeti River. It has been designed with a modern African decorative style that creates a fresh and bright atmosphere, but very cozy and with the right amount of luxury Guests can attend to the show of the Great Migration from the comfort of their tents.
Elegant tents built on raised wood platforms with an an en-suite facilities and an outside shower. After a day on safari guests can enjoy a refreshing shower under the stars. Each tent has its own private terrace from where to enjoy the landscape and the environment. The family tent consists in two tents interconnected and a shared bathroom and private porch.
The balloon experience starts before dawn. You will be collected as early as 04:00 and taken to the balloon launch site. As the balloon’s huge envelope is filled by fans powered by a mobile generator, you will be briefed on safety precautions, and what you are likely to see. Finally, with the balloon still safely tethered, you climb aboard at about 06:30, just as the sun is about to break above the horizon. The basket is quite deep, with compartments and rails to grasp for safety and to brace yourself. When the full complement of passengers is loaded, the pilot starts the burner, the balloon is released, and you lift off.
For the next hour (flight times vary from 50-70 minutes) you drift above the plains with the winds, tracked by the ground crew in their vehicles. Depending on conditions, you may fly high over the forest, peering into vulture's nests and watching baboons waking in their tree-top roosts, or swoop just a few metres above the dew-covered grass as zebra and antelope scatter. Skilled pilots can follow streams, to glidejust yards above snorting hippos or prides of lions taking water, and skim the savannah low enough to capture aerial wildlife photos. However for much of the flight, you'll soar like a tawny eagle through the dawning landscape as the sun transforms from a burnished orb on the shadowy horizon to a brilliant disc above the plains. A full bush breakfast will be waiting for you after you land, with photos annd certificates part of the fun, and you'll toast your success with sparkling wine. Then continue your day with game drives and other activities which planned with your guide.
After early breakfast depart to Ngorongoro, descend into the crater some 600 meters to experience the true spirit of Africa, From the comfort of your 4 x 4 vehicle crafted exclusively for game viewing will give an opportunity to spot Big five in this beautiful world wonder crater. Elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion and the rare black rhinoceros- as well as hyenas, jackals, flamingos and the yawning hippos are among the animals making this crater unique and beautiful.
Kitela Lodge:
