Tanzania Great Migration Safari | 7 Days

The northern Tanzania safari centred on the Great Migration and the incredible Serengeti National Park,Your spectacular wildlife safari goes in search of the greatest annual movement of land mammals on earth the Great Migration. The millions of migrating wildebeest and zebra are constantly on the search for fresh pastures and their movements are driven by the rains. The migration is typically in the Serengeti, Tanzania, for nine months of the year and the Maasai Mara, Kenya, for the remaining three months. If you time it right, and your luck is in, you may witness some truly astonishing natural spectacles

  • DAY 1

    Fly Into Kilimanjaro International Airport { JRO }

    We will meet you on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and drive you to your hotel in Arusha where you stay for the night on a bed & breakfast basis.

  • DAY 2

    On Safari in Tarangire National Park

    Your safari guide will pick you up after breakfast this morning and you will drive the approx. 2 hours to Tarangire national park, visiting the Silalei Swamp and Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park, which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. The Silale swamp acts as a giant sponge during the green season and slowly releases water during the dry season attracting thousands of animals. In the dry season large numbers of animals congregate along the life-giving river and simply make the Tarangire River and the silale swamp serves as a place of refuge for the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania.

  • DAY 3

    Ngorongoro Crater

    After an early start you begin your descent to the caldera floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a unique natural phenomenon. Your game drive takes you across the crater and you have great opportunities to enjoy the abundant wildlife, including large numbers of warthog and ostrich as well as hyena, lion and an elusive black rhino population. You have a lakeside picnic lunch today before you continue your game drives in the Crater in the afternoon. Head back to your lodge for dinner and a nightcap this evening before you continue on to the Serengeti in search of the Migration tomorrow.

  • DAY 4

    Drive to Central Serengeti

    Leave your Ngorongoro Crater lodge after breakfast and drive through to the southern Ndutu region of the Serengeti on your morning game drive. Your picnic lunch will be a chance to catch your breath and take in the endless expanse of the Serengeti plains. Continue north into the central Seronera region on your afternoon game drive before settling in to your lodge. The best location for your Serengeti accommodation is dependent on the time of year you're traveling.

    Whole day Migration Tour

    Your Serengeti safari continues with two full days as you explore deep into the heart of the park.If you’re on the hunt for the Great Migration then your precise itinerary will be planned around the movements of herds. If you're looking to tick off the ‘Big 5’ then the Serengeti’s vast, fertile expanse is the perfect territory as lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino can all be found... if you know where to look!     Great Migration Tour

    Continue into the central Seronera region on your afternoon game drive before settling in to your lodge. The best location for your Serengeti accommodation is dependent on the time of year you're traveling.Full day game drives in the Serengeti, home to the greatest concentration of large mammals on earth. Non-migratory species include large prides of lions, solitary leopards, cheetah and graceful impala. The landscape is characterized by vast stretches of open plains, punctuated by kopjes, rock formations that have survived from the Pre-Cambrian period, and open woodlands. After a sumptuous dinner, relax by the campfire, under a canopy of stars.

  • DAY 7

    Fly Home

    Today you check-out of your Serengeti safari lodge and you are driven back to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Arusha for day room and hot lunch before drive to Kilimanjaro Airport. You depart from Kilimanjaro on your international flights to complete your journey.
