Ndutu, Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro | 7 Days

The herds of the wildebeest migration arrive on the short-grass plains of the south and east of Seronera, around Ndutu and include the north of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dispersed across these plains, wildebeest and zebra are everywhere – feeding on the fresh, nutritious grasses. They stay here through December, January, February to March, with most wildebeest calves born in a short window around February. Gradually they spread west across these plains, then around April they start their great migration north. Calving usually takes place between January and February of each year. In January the herds begin making their way to the south of the Serengeti after the rains start falling. See the struggle of protecting mothers and hunting predators as the harmony of the circle of life unfolds on the plains of Tanzania, The highlight of this safari will be to experience the “Calving of Wildebeest” which only takes place once a year from December to end of March, an exciting natural phenomenon not to be missed.
